  • Yes, accessing an OncoHelix test requires a requisition form signed by your doctor.

Cancer Genomic Profiling

  • CGP is an advanced diagnostic test that analyzes the genetic makeup of a tumor to identify mutations, biomarkers, and actionable targets for personalized cancer care. Mutations are changes in the DNA sequence of a gene that has the potential to alter how that gene functions. In cancer, specific mutations can drive a tumour’s growth and progression.

    Identifying mutations with genomic testing allows clinicians to select precision treatments designed to target those specific genetic alterations, helping your care team personalize your treatment plan, improving efficacy and reducing unnecessary side effects.

  • OncoHelix offers both tissue biopsy and liquid biopsy options, making it possible to analyze tumour DNA from either tissue samples or a simple blood draw. The type of sample required depends on the test:

    Blood test: For liquid biopsy or ctDNA testing.

    Tissue biopsy: For genomic profiling of solid tumours.

  • The results are typically available with 2-4 weeks, depending on the panel and quality of sample.

  • Yes, once the test is analyzed, the report is sent to both your doctor and you. Your doctor will review the report and guide you on the next steps for treatment or further testing.

  • CGP is recommended for cancer patients at diagnosis, during treatment, or when facing recurrence. Consult your oncologist to see if it’s right for you.

  • CGP is not covered by insurance. However, OncoHelix has patient support programs that will cover your test – see if you are eligible here.

  • The cost depends on the test. Contact us for specific pricing details related to your test.

Immune Profiling

  • Immune profiling is a comprehensive immune health analysis of your immune system components to identify imbalances or abnormalities and reveal insights about your natural immune function as well as responses to diseases and treatments.

  • Immune profiling can help identify any fertility challenges, autoimmune disorders, and chronic inflammatory conditions as well as help with cancer-related immune monitoring.

  • Results are usually available within 48 hours to 14 days depending on the test. Check the turnaround times for each test here.

  • All tests with the immune profiling portfolio are non-invasive and can be completed with a simple blood draw.
