Catalina Lopez-Correa, CGSO at Genome Canada on the Power of Genomics in Her Breast Cancer Journey
“Knowledge is power….and knowledge is also hope,” Catalina says. “Genomics helped transform uncertainty into understanding.”
Catalina Lopez-Correa, Chief Global Strategy Officer at Genome Canada, is also a breast cancer survivor and a patient advocate. As October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, she talks about her journey, her belief in the power of genomics and personalized treatments.
Throughout her care, biomarker and genomic testing played a vital role, from refining her diagnosis to guiding treatment decisions and providing reassurance for the future.
Today, Catalina advocates for equitable access to genomic and biomarker testing for all patients—no matter where they live or who they are. While the science of precision oncology continues to advance, she reminds us that access and inclusion must follow.
🎗️ This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, OncoHelix celebrates breast cancer patients and the growing impact of genomics in transforming cancer care.
